To be fair I've been to a few Victorian RTEs and for the most part the weather has been hasn't bee that bad.  Smythedale (2019) was a bit wet but certainly nothing like the wind of the Meningie RTE (2018) and rain of the Langhorne Creek RTE (2023).

Maybe I should have checked the weather forecast before posting that.  A shower or two is forecast for Ballarat on sunday.  :fp

It's not in Melbourne, it's at Sebastopol, around 120km west, a different climate altogether, usually not a much rain, but a few degrees cooler.

Maybe I should have checked the weather forecast before posting that.  A shower or two is forecast for Ballarat on sunday.  :fp

If it doesn't rain, it might snow.

Helen & I having a caravanning weekend at Daylesford, will drive the 45km (from Daylesford to Sebastopol) in the Jeep Grand Cherokee on Sunday, tested the seat and steering wheel heaters today, they're working fine.

Have messaged the Royal Mail Hotel, requested a table next to the log fire, will post an update when confirmed.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

I made the mistake of only checking the Bendigo forecast until yesterday.
Bendigo forcast was 17 and fine. Not quite so good now.

When did BallarT not be wetter than the rest of the world. Its usually cold. True. But also drizzly and wet and cold.

I am riding at this point but we will see what the weather is closer to Sunday.

I'm gonna wait a few more minutes (or perhaps days) in the (probably vain) hope that the current forecast will change to fine weather before I make a decision on my mode of transport...  :whistle

It won't change my mode of transport, but the weather will dictate what action cameras I use.  I'm guessing the drone is unlikely to come out of it's bag.

I was going to do that too but Sue decided to spend a couple of days with her daughter in Melbourne but as she's still coming to the RTE, (I'll pick her up on the way) I needed to make a decision early as to our mode of transport...

I finally got home at 8.10pm...  :thumbsup

Dropped Sue off at her daughter's place at Knoxfield, grabbed some fish & chips for dinner then headed for home...

It was great catching up with the usual Ozstoc gang and it was also good to see Bodø making the effort to join us all the way from Adelaide.
Safe travels home, Bodø!  :thumbs

I'll post up a few pics when I get the chance...  :popcorn

Here we go...  :thumbsup

Well, it wasn't too bad a turn up considering the weather with 11 fronting, even if a few of us did arrive by car!
I for one was glad I made the decision to come in the car as it basically rained/drizzled all the way to Ballarat.

Thanks to everyone for making the effort and thanks again goes to Michael for organising this RTE...  :clap
