That is horrible news brother, have you spoken to a Chiropractor?
They specialise in this area and have a vastly greater amount of knowledge that may give you an option outside of surgery.

Anyway I hope you are able to get some good options and find a good result.

All the best mate

Cheers

Saw the physiotherapist this evening, and after a thorough check up he came back with the ‘foot drop’ being the main issue that needs to be taken care of … it’s more a neurological disorder and if not seen to will eventually lead to extreme weakness in the foot and me needing to wear a foot brace. Got a call from the hospital and hopefully will see the surgeon within the week to discuss my condition & have also booked a sports physiotherapist for Saturday to get another opinion there as well. If all four come back with the same conclusion then it’s definitely going to be an operation.
Stay safe & well all,
Cheers, Jd

Hi JD,
Not good at all. It is not until you have had some back that you understand, so my thoughts are with you.
Given your resistance to surgery, and I fully agree, and that you are checking all options have you thought about seeing a chiropractor?

Thanks Glen, have been advised against chiropractic treatment at this stage as it may cause the condition to worsen.

I find it funny that Chiropractors always get a bad rap from Doctor's & Physios, yet it's a Chiropractor that I always turn to when I have back issues...and so far they have always got me mobile again.  :thumbs

Mine is neurological condition which could get worse with chiropractic manipulation is the information I gathered, but who knows 🙁.

Sorry to hear about this JD. If the chiropractor option is not appropriate you could also try an Osteopath. I have been using them for a few years now. I only started when my chiropractor at the time was unavailable. More massage and working on muscles than a chiro.
That aside I would pray that you find the best course of action and the best medical people to help you.
Catch you soon.
