Eurogrip Roadhouse 180/55/17

On a recent ride to Coffs Harbour a few week
My mate on my old  got a flat tyre on the rear of the ST
We managed to get the bike to Coffs Motorcycle’s the Honda dealership in Coffs
Well the tyre was stuffed so trying to get get a tyre to suit a ST1300
The only tyre they had was a Eurogrip Roadhouse which they say is a tyre made in India
The mechanic had a set on his FJR1300 and he said he likes them
So with no other option other than to wait and a get tyre ordered in so he gave it a go
The tyre was a 180/55/17 so a bit different than the standard 170/60/17
Bit it fitted and looked good
The tyre has gone well so far the ride back to Toowoomba it went well
And a recent ride to Bendemeer he is very happy with it
Has anyone else used or heard of them ?

Never heard of them, then again, I use Shinko tyres on my BMW and most people haven't heard of them either. They work great!
I'm keen to hear how it performs.

I will keep everyone updated as I ride regularly with Pete but he is not a Forum person
But after only 2,000km he is happy with them so far

Sounds like they might be a reasonably priced option, Leo...
Just be aware they are slightly smaller in diameter than the standard size tyre so will up the revs a touch at any given speed.

Yes RuSTy he did a check last week it is 8 or 9kph out but my NT1100 is 9kph from the factory
But at least he knows
I suggested a speedo healer like you have but he said as long as he knows what it is

That's crazy that a speedo can be so far out on a brand new vehicle...
There's no real reason for it other than they are covering their ass making sure they are well within legal requirements.
It's the same with cars although they don't seem to be quite as bad as they are with motorcycles.

The speedos typically read 5 KPH higher than actual, and having altered the tyre profile will change it again and affect the odometer accuracy.

Apparently by law they the manufacturer are allowed 10% but still not good. I didn't realise that on the NT1100 it was out so far until a mate who also owns one told me so next ride I checked it against a GPS on my phone thinking they are acerate

Re. speedo accuracy, I always check the speedo of car and motorbikes for accuracy against the speedo app on my iPhone as soon as I can, even on rental cars. 

The only speedo I've found to be accurate was the one on my 2005 RAV4, and it was good for a range of speeds.  Really can't remember now, but from around 40km/h to 110km/h.  The worst is probably my original ST1300, and now your mate's ST1300, with another 8% error thrown in, would be terribly annoying and frustrating.  The replacement ST1300, had a speedo healer, it must've been calibrated correctly as it was spot on.

I now use "Waze" as my speedo pretty much all the time as my Sportage speedo overreads by around 4-5 kph.
Sue's Stonic overreads by a similar amount.
Her old 2017 i30 is 5kph out at an indicated 100kph, 3 at 80 & 2 out at 60 whilst my little 2010 diesel i30 is out by just 2kph...

May be, but then how would inaccurate speedos on my EL, AU & BA Falcons from the late 1998 to 2005 be explained?

The most accurate speedos were on the police variant STs (The white ones) . Speedo is marked in 2K increments, and if using the spec tyre size are spot on.

Another friend of mine who also rides a NT1100 is getting a rear tyre fitted today he had to get it posted from Victoria free postage I think. Now he rides much faster than me so will be a good test for them
