After we cancelled the cruise to Vanuatu because of cyclone's I decided to do the RTE to Aratula
I headed out about 9.00 getting fuel on the way
I headed towards Warwick then did Cunningham Gap which was slow with the road works, with a section of 60kph for many km with no work happening
I arrived early about 11.00 with Shiney & Carol already there
After a chat a few more turned up
Gadget turned up in his Tesla and had to show of his new software on his phone where he can drive the Tesla around the  carport with no one in the car. Someone driving past just about twisted there head of seeing it moving around
Another patron walked into the hotel quite amazed
I grabbed a beer and headed to our table
After checking the menu I ordered the Club sandwich which turned out to be very nice
The chicken schnitzel was popular
After a chat with lunch it was time to head for home
Diesel followed me home, I went towards Ipswich to Warrell View turned left and took the back road to Rosewood over to Laidley Forrest Hill then went through Gatton to Helidon where we came across some road works
Then I took the bypass to Toowoomba and Diesel headed up the range
Temperature got to 31° which wasn't to bad
Thank you Shiney and Gadget for organising another great RTE
Hopefully catch up in March with a RTE to Mt Tamborine the the National Rally in Toowoomba

Thanks for organizing this Shiney and Carol. Angie and I had a great day, made a round trip to Lake Moogarah Dam and then onwards to Aratula Pub for a very nice Lunch with a great bunch of fellow OzStoc people. Always great to catch up with everyone and see what's new. NT1100 looks awesome and Gadgets Tesla tricks are always present. Hope Diesel gets some new boots soon.
Congrats to Dale on his Anniversary of owning the ST1100. Certainly, getting great value and adventure from that great bike.
We had an uneventful ride home, noticed Gadget in my mirrors till Willowbank and not much further down the road we spotted a Mob of Kangaroos about to make a trip across the highway. Hope, they didn't go through with that plan.  Shiney and Carol caught up to us around Goodna somewhere and we followed them from a distance till we separated to take the Tunnels through the City.
Angie's first Pillion ride in over 20 years. I think she found it slightly nerving not being able to see straight ahead without looking around my big head and helmet. The GW drank 3/4 of a tank on this trip. She's a thirsty girl, pulls like a tank, so much torque. Not sure if the mileage is normal or not. Interested to hear how much fuel Shiney used in his more modern GW.
Till next time. Cheers!

I had a great drive down with nobody holding me up most of the way.

Enjoyed everyone's company, and the food was filling and delicious.

I got to play with my big blue remote control car, much to the surprise and amusement of some of the local customers.:grin

Great drive home. I stopped in at Qld Raceway to check out the high-speed DC (300 kW) charger. It's fast, but very expensive. $1.30 session, plus  $0.90/kWh.

Avoiding Tolls, I drove through Enoggera, Bridgeman Downs, etc

Cheers,

Carol and I had an awesome day.

It was a nice cool start in the low 20s when we started.

We had a relaxing cruise out to the tavern, and after a short time, we were joined by wild rose.

A little while later, DaleAP arrived.

Next was Niftynev19 and Angie.

Shortly followed by Diesel on STella.

And Gadget with his Tesla.

We had a chat for a bit outside

Then, we headed in for a feed.
The food was great

After lunch, we all headed off.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it, and I look forward to seeing you all again at another RTE soon :hatwave

Oh, and fuel for this trip was 4.5 L/100 when I glanced at it on the way home.

Cheers

Think I averaged around 7.1/100km on the GW. I have just on or below a quarter tank left from full when I got home. I was also comparing my Speedo reading to GPS on phone while riding. Seems the GW is out by a few km's on the slower end. Which is good I guess to keep from those fines.
