Sidestand hitting exhaust pipe

While refitting the belly pan I noticed that the sidestand is resting against the exhaust pipe rather than the rubber stop. Can I take the sidestand off and belt it with a hammer?

I think the side stand is cast so belting it with a hammer may not be such a good idea. I'd investigate the cause of why it's missing the bump stop. Bracket bent? something else out of alignment?

My ST11 is all over the workshop floor ATM. I'll see if I can get a decent photo of how my sidestand sits and potential reasons for lack of alignment
