Cyclone Alfred
« on: March 08, 2025, 09:48:06 AM »
So happy that cyclone Alfred has been downgraded to a low
But it's over yet
Hope everyone is safe with flooding to Gold Coast and Northern NSW
Flooding can still happen as the low still tracks west
Toowoomba has not had a lot of rain yet but is supposed to get rain over the next few day
I have been worried for Brisbane and Gold Coast members
Hopefully all good in Toowoomba for the National Rally only 2 weeks away
Stay Safe

Ended up being anti-climactic for Brisbane, but the Gold Coast and Bribie Island copped a caning.
The biggest beneficiary has been Bunnings selling plywood, packing tape, ropes and portable gas stoves.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Almost.

We (in the 'burbs in outer NE Melbourne) had a scheduled power outage a coupla months back, 7;00am to 7:00pm, everything okay in the 'fridge and freezer, fortunately it wasn't a hot day.   But, with electronic ignition on the instantaneous gas HWS and gas cooktop, no hot water for the day, and couldn't boil the kettle ..... until I remembered the Coleman camp cooker in the garage.

First world problem, aye!
