Blinker has an extra wire?
« on: June 22, 2025, 02:17:56 PM »
Confused about replacement blinkers

Hi all, I've got a replacement part from ebay that said "genuine Honda" for my left indicator assembly (wires, lens, reflector).
Problem is, it has an extra connector, and the blinker is doing double time like it is missing a bulb or wants a capacitor?
Did they sell me a set for a different bike?

I can't attach the picture because the bot says it doesn't meet the forum standards. Probably because with the tupperware off it is naked.

The assy could be a Euro version, where they have running lights.. Not sure though.

OK, I think I have a work around.

Old wiring on one side, new wiring on the other.

In the picture it looks like there is an orange wire and a green wire on the bike side of the orange plug.
However, on the bulb side of the orange plug only the orange wire is connected.
If you connect the green wire through the plug to the other green wire it might fix the issue :think1

Yeah, it looks like someone stuffed up in the factory when making that one and put a spare connector on instead of connecting it to the orange plug. Can you get the pin and wire out of the white plug and fit it into the empty(?) spot on the orange one? Otherwise, Fleabay is pretty good about returns for obvious flaws like this.

If you look carefully, you should be able to see a pin holding the wire into the plug. You could carefully use a safety pin to press down on the lock and extract the connectors . lift the locking tab slightly and refit to the plugs..
