A ST1100 mirror by another name
« on: October 31, 2025, 10:49:46 AM »
Hi,
my 1995 ST1100 ABS (AS model for Australia) has a RHS mirror part 88110-MAJ-R01 which is extremely hard to get. 88110-MAJ-G01 is easier to order but I have failed to work out the difference beween the two.
Has anybody else already been down this road?
Regards
          Garry

One day you will wake up and there won't be anymore time to do the things you've always wanted so do them NOW!!!
Remember there are 7 days in a week and Someday isn't one of them!

Guys,
I am pretty sure it is not a superseded number like 88110-MT3-003 for example. Only R01 used in Australia. Only G01 used in the USA. There is none available in Australia regardless what the web parts say. Even japanese websites cannot get them. My main concern is whether the convex glass is the same. Ours (R01)  might of had to meet special ADRs.

I ended up getting someone to customer fit a new convex glass to the existing frame. About half the price. All good.

I probably would have been tempted to just fit a flat mirror as I hate how everything looks miles away when they are actually close to you...  :think1

Novus can do that for about $60. I prefer it to be identical to the other mirror so found somebody else.

On my first ST1300 Red 2001 which I know the previous owner dropped had a new mirror fitted the same as yours did
Well I was riding down near Grafton and it just fell off. I didn't stop as it would have been in 100 pieces
So I just bought a new one. Very hard to ride with no right mirror

Yes, I talked with the installer about the very same thing. They are supposed to be a press fit with silicon adhesive to ensure the mirror does not fall out. Only time will tell I guess.
