I don't know when I get to chase the nurses around

That is how they get you on your feet again, which won't take long. When you can walk, you can chase nurses.

Good incentive. (Until you catch one).

Is it like greyhounds, where they put them out to pasture if they catch the rabbit?  ;-* :think1

This is day 5 already and still struggling to get around
I manage to get up for a shower every day
And I know I am doing much better every day
But knowing where I should be up is hard to know
The nurses are in out before you release
With limited staff and Easter in the middle is not not helping
But they have now got in rehib ward
Fri Sat Sun & Monday so far

Well I have new knee's
Robyn had to drop me off at 6.15
I went into Theatre at 8.25
I woke up in recovery at 11.15
Feel great
No pain so far
But wait till tomorrow it might be a different story
Keeping me in ICU overnight
Then I will go to my ward tomorrow
Create news Leo, just keep up the exercises.

Ergh!!
I've seen other guys' scars from this op, and it's amazing how feint they become after a few months.
And the same guys who were popping Neurofen like Easter Eggs and were chair-bound are getting about normally now.  Just gotta do the hard yards!

Day 11
I was speaking with the doctor this morning they have a meeting with patients ever Wednesday
They have have decided to keep me in hospital till next week for now
Since I have private health I will get reheb every day instead of once a week
And the staff are excellent. I know it gets very boring but they think it will be good for me
I am getting around by myself quite well now but still need a lot of work on knee bends but getting better day
When I get up from sitting down for a long period when I get up the pain is terrible until I do a bit of a walk around
Before I go to the gym they give me pain relief to carry me over
After gym I put ice on my knee's to help with swelling
Gym is from 9.00 till 10.30 then we have talks from staff to assist with ideas to make life easier

Day 15
The day I go I get I get to go home  :hatwave
I could have gone home a few days ago but I now have staples out
24 in each knee and 4 in each shin
It has gone off quite quickly actually
Robyn wanted me to be able look after myself
As I am no lightweight she didn't want to man handle me around
So I am now fully independent
It is going to be interested to see if I have lost any weight
I had lost 8kg before my operation
With 14 days of only hospital food with no junk food
To be continued

I have lost another 4kg in hospital so 12kg all up so far
Which I very happy. The big job now is keep it off
Getting into and out of the car was harder than I thought just trying to bend my knee's was painful
But I'm sure in a few weeks all will be forgotten
So thank you for all the well wishes

I managed to get away to Esk this morning for a ride on the Spyder  :hatwave
I went out on Sunday to see how I would go getting on and off
Well it was a  :like .  So Pete Robert Sam& Gerard headed off just after 8.00 to Esk for a short ride only 80km each way But a good start. I chose the Spyder as it easiest to get on and off
The riding position was excellent with very little discomfort in the saddle
Maybe a bigger ride next week
