ID of part
« on: February 24, 2026, 05:35:09 PM »
Hi all, while installing a new battery on my ST1300 ahead of a long trip to Cooktown later this year, I took the opportunity to remove an old intercom set that was installed on the bike when I bought it. This required lifting the tank so I could pull out a wire. When completed, I started the bike and this rubber wedge shaped piece fell out from around the triple clamp area and I'm buggered if I know what it is. I'll try and attach a couple of photos, if anyone can tell me what it is and where it goes, I'd appreciate it. My suspicion is that its for vibration dampening of somewhere around the tank, but I'm not sure. The bike performed fine today on a trip into town and back.

Thanks for that STeveo, it definitely looks like what I've got and it figures that it would be a tank item.
