So John Meara is looking for an AM/FM radio
Not simply that Brian, but also:
  • Digital AM too (not old crackly analogue AM)
  • Must be suitable for mounting on the bike and be able to cope with a bit of water (any bits that are exposed)
  • Prefer to be able to adjust a few things with gloss on, but this may be an ask.

Brian,
Unfortunately most of the threads on this forum end up like good bike roads, have lots of turns in them but hopefully still get to the correct destination.
John,
I bought a digital radio for my wife but she has been disappointed in the stations she gets. You may have different tastes or a better selection in the east than Perth. Have you listened to digital yet?

Digital radio should be like digital TV. When you get reception it is great and much better than analogue, with extra features.  When signal quality is down, you either get a signal or it drops out.  It will be interesting what is around.

Yes we've been listening to digital AM in the house and it is good, with excellent sound and no signal problems. Lots of new stations in Brisbane, with some having 2 or 3 versions with different programming.

I am not in any rush as I know this has a bit of growing to do, but I don't want to put in the effort citing an analogue system when digital is already here.

No idea what "Digital"means but heres one I used for maybe 4 years without a problem. It also has a search button and can be used with gloves and its like $25 delivered to the door so, so what if it breaks in a year.  :thumbsup
Ebay is your friend : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-FM-Radio-Speaker-Stereo-Amplified-Waterproof-/170674531342?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27bcfeac0e&vxp=mtr

I bought one of these, and it died the first time it rained - it was mounted behind the screen not directly in the rain or anything.

I just bought a cheap Sony walkman radio, SRF-59, that I'll try on the bike, just need to get some metal under the tank cover so a tank bag will stick!
