New Boots Yesterday
« on: July 12, 2012, 02:12:52 PM »
When we to Port Pirie yesterday by car we called into Boats and Bikes. Sort of a strange set up for me, Honda Marine, Suzuki and Yamaha dealer all in one as I usually see Honda Marine with Honda Bikes.....lol

http://www.boatsnbits.com.au/

Actually went there to see about oil and Heather ended up forking out $168 for new boots for me and we never looked at the oil. Have never seen the brand before and it was priced middle of the range for the ones that were on Special Sale price.

Boots are here http://www.axo.com/us/collection/street/footwear/q-gt-wp-boots and are supposed to be waterproof. Similar to Dri-Rider in that area I suppose.

Axo are a reasonably known brand, as I have seen them around and seen reviews. Being actually waterproof is another issue, but given the weather protection on an ST11 I don't think they will be too challenged.  Keeping up some leather treatment on the boots will help.

I wasn't to fussed either way, my old ones after six years were no longer fit for the purpose and needed another pair for the border run.

Perhaps we will do a boot off at the Border Run   :beer...except mine are a few years old and looking like it   :'(

Water resistant Alan.......not quite water proof!!...........but a nice looking boot nevertheless and at a good price "to boot"!! :thumbsup
A good spray with water repellant should help in the water proofing department. :)

There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!

We get this from our local hardware store for about $20 a can.  I use it on my jacket and it seems to work in light showers as I haven't been out in heavy downpours for quite awhile.
