Looks good. I have ridden those roads a bit and it is good fun.  Solves the problem I have as to whether I suggest we go from Bathurst down through Oberon to Blackheath.  If we are doing those roads on saturday then all is good.

I'll be doing a reverse run from Bell with Dick B on the way up to put up the arrow signs, so I'll be able to give everyone at the caravan park a heads up on the road conditions.

Forgot to mention.............

Because many of you are travelling on new and previously unridden road routes....

BE VERY CAREFUL AND VIGILANT OF FLOOD DAMAGED ROAD SURFACES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These can be in the form of pot holes, wash-outs, gravel and rocks on the corners, slippery-mossy corners that are constantly in shaded mountain twisties, wildlife, and of course - those BLEEPIN CAGE DRIVERS WHO OWN THE ROAD!

Stay safe - say G'day to Diesel when you get there.

Cheers, Diesel

Tell me abt it. New fork seals on left after the farrally. did a major service at the time and the bill was astronomical. Take care.

Ooooooh, the pillion has just cracked it.
Kindly reminded me I have an unroadworthy bike.
One indicator pod missing.
So, have three choices.
Ride down in a convoy and be in the middlle so we are seen on roundabouts.
Beg borrow or steal a pod for the weekend.
Don't go - doesn't seem a viable option.
So who are the Thursday mroning starters from Bris?

Problemo solved. I can indicate my intentions to turn.
May not be pretty but it works.
Would like to get to meet at Tenterfield but pillion may not be ready for that early a kick off.
Don't know where the overnight will be but plenty of really cheap pubs along the way.
Google has a novel way to go. takes you west out of muswellbrook.
Might try it an come back up the Putty to Greta for rellies on the way home.
Anyone else doing the run down the New England my ph is 0407159 860. Bell me during the day.

For those who have been too scared to look - especially the Queenslanders

Closest seems to be Katoomba and the temp will top out at nice balmy 19 both Fri and Sat.
Low is a very scary 7-8

I'm writing this from my motel in Scone Wednesday night- 720 km for the day.  On my way to Dale in Swansea to get my electronics debugged, then depart Swansea for Blackheath Friday morning.  Garmin has plotted a route north of Sydney.  I can only hope it knows what it's doing!

I would call that a warm 7-8.  It was -1 here the other night, up to 4 this morning.  Anyone from inland Queensland will think it is warm.

Biggles, from Newcastle I hope you are going the Putty Road from Singleton. It will be slightly longer than going Gosford-Richmond but much more fun.  As you will be at Swansea you could also go down through Wisemans Ferry by taking the back roads, as that is also a nice ride if you did not want to do the extra distance for the Putty Road. I am sure Dale can advise.

Well at the moment I am sequested in  a motel room in Dubbo and looking forward to our little skirmish around Bathurst tommorrow

I Stayed overnight in Tamworth and was gratially looked after by Steveo the one armed bandit at the moment.
Still healing slowly (right collarbone and a few crack ribs) so is suffering serious PMS at this moment in time and the lovely 1100 still in need of repairs..There was only one problem on the trip from Tamworth to Dubbo BSR so ended making my own turns utilising all my side of the road.
Will see a few of you on the mountain Tomorrow I hope.
Tipsy
I am lost and haves gone to find myself
Now If I get back before I return
Please ask me to wait.

Overnighting in Swansea as per Plan A.  Dale excelled himself and debugged the system in good time, with plenty of time for a chat.  Because I was running on GPS battery (due to the bug) I only just made it to his place before losing the directions.  His new home is a bit convoluted to find, and GPS will take you to a lady up the street, because it can't do "16" and insists on "17".
Anyhoo, I got a chance to visit my old haunts from the '60s when I lived in 5 different houses here in Newcastle.
On the road earlish- no rush.
These NSW 50 kph towns every 2 km, reminders half way between each that "We Use Safety Cameras In NSW", then the new-fangled "We're now timing you to make sure you don't hurt yourself driving along this big wide road" with red light cameras on every second street corner, traffic lights on highways in the middle of nowhere...  :cuss
I never realised how good we've still got it in Qld.  They've got everyone down here driving like a nanna.  I've only seen 2 coppers- they're not needed because they've got Big Brother raking in the fines.

I'll be heading off trusting Garmin to get me there.  I elected shorter rather than faster, so it should be scenic, just looking at the general heading it's taking.  If I'm not there by dinner you can start dragging the Hawkesbury River for the bike.

See yers all termorro.

We made it to Little Hartley in good time today, left from north haven, did about 480 for the day.

We are staying at my parents block about 10 mins from blackheath.

So we went and met the Rotary club cooking us breakfast Saturday & Sunday, also dropped in on the Ivanhoe hotel where our meet and greet Friday, and dinner Saturday will be taking place, they cook a mean steak, and have genourous portions of food to suit!

I will be at the tourist park from about 11am onwards to meet everyone and answer any questions best I can.

Cheers
