Question for Garmin Zumo 660 users re phone and bluetooth
« on: July 21, 2012, 10:01:16 AM »
Hi everyone,
I am planning on upgrading my GPS to the Garmin Zumo 660. I am hoping to find a bluetooth phone that is compatible to the point where phone book etc can be viewed on the GPS unit. Garmin's website is painful with regard to finding a compatible phone. OK if you already own a phone and want to check functions. Can anyone recommend a phone to suit this purpose?Ideally a cheap and simple option. Cheers.

What is your current phone, does it have bluetooth

My Nuvi1390 seems to be working with my Galaxy SII, so the 660 should as well.

I have a telstra nextg Samsung flip phone GT-S5511T which works with all the zumo functions (phonebook, power and reception status, phone a POI etc). I bought it as a prepaid.  My older ZTE connected up but not all functions worked.

The Garmin Zumo Forum is what you want. They have a special section on what phones work and don't work. You will have to register to access the forum but its worth it. :thumbs

Thanks all for your replies. Will certainly check out that forum. Might take a look at that Samsung phone also.

Should have also mentioned that the Samsung phone has great battery life and I got it mainly because it had good sensitivity for connecting up in rural areas.

HI Nick, I have been using the Zumo 660 now for about 2.5years and I pair it to my Nokia C6.  The phone book comes up on the Zumo and can make calls through my Cardo head set with ease.  I should think any Nokia will pair and work just the same.
Good Luck.

I have a Zumo 660 and my nokia C6 works perfectly with it,the only problem I have with the 660 is that it,s sometimes hard to see the screen in bright sunlight (this hasn,t been a big problem this year in Ireland as it seems to be raining most days since the begining of april).
Garmin have a new Zumo 350LM which although pricey is supposed to be good.
     Cheers
