Without hesitation I'd recommend you check dmme.com.au.
Dale's got all the advice and parts you might need.

Hey Jack, what brand is the one you bought over?
If its a StarCom1 I have ALL the cables etc here, if its "the other brand"  :whistle you'll need to consult Bluerim in Sydney.

If you want to replace it and add in UHF as well no problem  :wink1

thanks brad and  streak  :thumb

dale, the one i have got is autocom, ive got the box, and the helmets are fitted with speakers and mike, the cables i have missing are the ones that go from the box to the helmet.
i dont know if you deal with autocom or not, but i might have to change the whole set up.
i am waiting on my daughter getting back to me after she has a look for them.

if the rest of the guys have uhf or bike to bike i will prob need to match up with them.

Jack
You'll need to talk to BLUERIM http://www.bluerim.com.au/product-listing/headsets-headset-accessories.html for the cables for Autocom.
Just all bike to Bike here is based on UHF, any UHF will talk to any other UHF (provided your on the same channel  :rofl), so it doesnt really matter which one you choose.

The autocom cables should be readily available (I am one of 'those' users!) I have also made up a cable to connect a GME 3420 (or other similar) bike powered CB radio if you want to go thst route. Otherwise specific cables are made for various hand held radios.  I have a spare cable to connect various uniden hand helds to the autocom (the uniden died but I am not going to replace it) It was a 073SX, but the cable should fit a few others.

thanks guys  :thumbsup

i have just purchased a hand held uniden uh720sx-nb, it has the earpiece that works with vox, but i dont think it will be very good with an open face helmet,
so dale what do you suggest i get for my helmet?

also, on the bike i have two small boxes, one on the handlebar, and one under the top box, and i think the main box is under the seat, is this something to do with an intercom, i dont know how to post pics on here, but dale i will send you a pic via e-mail at your shop, if you could look at this and see if you recognise it, that would be great, then i can get the stuff i need for two helmets.

as you can probably tell i have no clue as to things like this,

thanks just now guys for the info received

Ah Jack
What you have there my old mate is a BikeCom from Don Pearson.
27Mhz AM, not UHF and not much chop as intercom either, my best advice is to chuck it and start again.
Give me a call tomorrow evening from around 6:00 if you like and I can explain in depth and give you some options
