« on: October 02, 2012, 02:34:50 PM »
Does anyone else have a problem with the seat on their ST1100s, this is my second ST and I ride many Ks but have always had a problem as it leaves me with a sore bum, I do stand up a lot when riding to let the blood flow to my feet. I have riden over a quarter million Ks on Sts alone.Hanno

A recurring thread this, most of us have had our seats modded one way or another.

My seat was reworked by a local motor trimmer, its now great to sit in.

could not agree more about the modification, John Moorehouse in Brisbane is fantastic, I am not sure who in townsville does it, but it is amazing how good your seat is one you have had it built to you!

as you can see by my seat, It suits me to the ground, and i can spend all day in the saddle  :thumb

evening Hanno, I think you will be looking around the $180 to $250 mark depending on who does it, as all the different trimmers/upholsters have their own pricing structure.

I would be finding out what foam works best, and making sure you have all your ducks in a row when you go and talk about getting it done.

Hi Hanno,
After a long time with a painful standard seat I found a local trimmer who has made it perfect.
He re -shaped the original foam similar to Streaks seat and then covered the whole lot in 1/2 inch foam.
When he made the new cover he used non slip vinyl on the top section where you sit so you don't move around unless you want to. Didn't use gel or fancy foam, made a flat area to sit on and now its great.  Terrific value for $200 and no more painful bum
