Sidecars
« on: October 08, 2012, 10:27:25 AM »
Seeing as I used to have one, I thought I might get back into the sidecar scene again. I had a Yamaha 750 Special (1980 ) with a black DJP sidecar on it.
The chair cost me $1500 new back then. Great rig.
I found this place, DMC sidecars in WA. This was the return email I received from them on price.

The EZS is pretty much the top of the line bike made any where in the world
and they do make it for left side mount. The EZS sidecars come with
automotive wheels, tires and new front end for the bike. For your bike EZS
recomends the RX4, $15,800 the RX5 $17,300 Munro $18,720 and the Summit
$19,400 These prices include shipping.   :eek :eek :eek :eek

Truthfully I fell out of my seat when I read the prices. Maybe I should ask them what extras come with them to make up the price ?
I'm sure i stated SIDEcar not car when i enquired.

Just thought it would be of interest to some of you thinking of making a rig.

Does anyone know of any other places that makes / sells sidecars in Aust ? - I'm loath to buy one that costs more that the machine its being attached to.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.

Hi Bob,

I happen to have a 2 seater hardtop Squire sidecar sitting in the shed. It's in pretty good nick. The ex bought it a few years ago planning to attach it to either my ST OT his Beemer. Well, he's not around anymore and I like riding solo, so I could be convinced to part with it for a very reasonable price.

If you want to see some pics I can take some in the next couple of days.
