ST1100 Seat project.
« on: October 12, 2012, 07:28:34 AM »
Just finished a project I promised myself ages ago.

I have recovered a spare seat. I got the material off a guy who restores antique furniture.
I understand why the professionals can charge so much, it's not an easy job, but I'm happy with the results in that department.
It's the colour, I'm not sure I like it. It looked better in my head than in real life.
See what you think.

Nicely done, lots of heat gun application I bet. I recovered a seat for a ZZR1100 once, too many complex curves to do it without a heat gun.

Not sure about the colour, maybe a medium grey would work (Black would).

I think the colour is not to bad and I reckon it just might grow on you.
Remember its only you that needs to like it anyway,  8)

Looks like a good job Paul.  How do you think the colour looks in real life? If I had to judge by the photo it somehow does not totally work, but it may grow on you and that is all that matters.

I think the seat colour goes well with the gold. Very unique but I think a match.

Good job mate, well done :thumb

Thanks guys some real nice comments there.
I'm still not sure about the colour but I'm going to have a ride out to Squires Cafe the local bike meet venue at the weekend, park up and sit back and listen and watch. Could be entertaining, right up until someone slags my bike off..... :-(((  :) Your right Tipsy I know it's only me who has to like the seat, it is my bike. But I don't want folk laughing at it that could end in tears for someone.....not me :wink1
I'm going to give it time, I have the standard seat if I decide to switch back anyway.
We will see, we will see.
