Tank thigh grips?
« on: November 15, 2012, 01:18:40 PM »
This sounds odd just typing it but...

I hate sliding forward in my seat and squashing my unsquashables against the tank.
I feel that if the tank had a bit of grip my thighs would hold the position better, is there such a product?

Adding non-slip material to the seat of my pants doesn't sound like an attractive option...but I could be wrong.

Cheers,

Mech.

My problem was that I slid too far back, and got the bum stuck in a slot on a badly made seat. Fix, is to have the seat reworked at a good motor trimmers.

Just found these and they look the goods for what I'm after:

Shown is for the ST1300, I've enquired about a set for the ST1100.

Upon reading I see these a fairly common for improving lower body control of the bike.

or a seat belt.

Got this reply from techspec:
We do not have these pre-cut.  You may get one of our General Sheets and cut yourself, which can be cut with scissors, or you can make a template for us and we can make you a custom kit.  If you decide to make a pattern, it would need to be 1 to 1 scale and the original sent to us.
The General Sheet part# is 62-0002-SS and you may order through our website.  Let us know and thank you for your interest and support in our product.
