A Russian couple was walking down the street in Moscow one night, when the man felt a drop hit his nose. "I think it's raining," he
said to his wife.

"No, that felt more like snow to me," she replied.

"No, I'm sure it was just rain," he said.

Well, as these things go, they were about to have a major argument about whether it was raining or snowing.  Just then, they saw a
minor communist party official walking toward them.  "Let's not fight about it," the man said, "let's ask Comrade Rudolph whether
it's officially raining or snowing."

As the official approached, the man said, "Tell us, Comrade Rudolph, is it officially raining or snowing?"

"It's raining, of course," he replied, and walked on.

But the woman insisted: "I know that felt like snow!"

The man quietly replied: "Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!"

Love the reindeer thing!

And a 'Happy Christmas' to all down there from up here where its' been snowing on and off for the past three days or so and is set to become colder still with more of the white stuff on the way. Bike's garaged, all nice and cosy for a bit now. Starting to hit decent minus figures now overnights and 0C or 1C during the day. Really frustrating when its quite nice out but the snow and ice on the roads ruins any chance of a good/sensible ride out.

Season's best to all.

Been snowing here as well..... oh wait.. it's been hot and humid  :H :H.. easy to get confused  :crackup :crackup :rofl :rofl :rofl

I really don't get into Xmas.. I'm over the whole thing and since there aren't any small kids in our house we don't get into the tree and decorations thing.

Having said that I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year   :beer  :beer

I'm a Christmas junkie and love the many gatherings of family and friends.  Our tree and decorations have been up since the Adelaide Christmas Pagent, and this year we have our first grandchild's first Chirstmas, so it has another dimension.

Here's part of a neat Christmas Prayer to remind us of what Christmas is really about....

"At Christmas as we think of Father Christmas, we pray for all travellers in this busy holiday season.   With so many on the road, going to family lunches or dinners,  and leaving on holidays, they need to feel your presence.  Give them the patience and attentive minds they need to journey safely.

At Christmas we think of Mary & Joseph as they journeyed towards Bethlehem and faced the birth of their special baby, but we pray for all expectant parents as they undertake their own journeys with apprehension and excitement.   Let them feel your love and care, and the calmness that comes from you.

At Christmas we think of shepherds, but pray for all farmers as they endure the difficulties of uncertain and potentially changing climate.  Let them know that you are cradling the earth in you hands, and that you rejoice with them as the land produces its bounty.

At Christmas we think of the wise men, but pray for all in positions of authority or government.  Help them to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with you” (Micah 6:8  ) and to govern with integrity and justice.

At Christmas we think of the baby Jesus, but thankyou for the messages that he brought to us as an adult......."

Merry Christmas

Well done Pete!  I'll be using that bit of wisdom this year!

Hard to rationalise the concept of Christmas when the thermometer here yesterday hit 40 degrees C (that's 104 degrees F!), yet still people here talk of having a "...white Christmas"...strange but true!

No matter, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year. I hope everyone (including me!) has a safe and relaxed driving experience over the holidays, and everyone needs to do their very utmost to avoid the craziness that always accompanies the holidays! Lets not become a statistic!
