When I was an apprentice one of the pr*cks I had to work with took my boots and hid them. I had to ride home to the farm in my socks. They gave the boots back next day and thought it a great joke, wouldn't have been if I'd been hurt.

A while back (beginning of 2017) I brought SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex (version 2) boots.

They fit great, are easily adjusted and are comfortable :thumbsup

I picked them up from:

I bought mine last year for $168. Don't have a pic but the link will give you an idea.

http://www.axo.com/us/collection/street/footwear/q-gt-wp-boots
I still have these but the above link is broken

Hardly any wear on them after over two years so they will last quite a while yet. Side zip plus Velcro over that

Water resistant leather upper leather shift gear
Internal plastic shin guard and ankle guard
Anti-bacterial and anti-sweat mesh lining with waterproof membrane
Synthetic leather front and back bellows
Anatomical removable antibacterial foot bed
Still wearing these

I tried ALDI boots a few years ago and found the ankle so stiff I couldn't change gears without bending my knee to move the gear lever.  Returned them for a full refund after a day.

I thought the same when I first got them, but after a couple of days, became fine for riding and walking. Only problem I've had was that the velcro came away, but that was my fault. Some shoe glue, all fixed and happy.

I also have some Blundstone riding boots, great while riding, but walking not so good.

Well it must be about time you gave them some wear rather than just polishing them and writing about them!    :-(((

I'd always been a fan of the Dririder Storm Boot as they were extremely comfortable and waterproof.  They then "upgraded that with a 2.0 version but if you aske me the original storm boot was better.  Dririder quality has gone downhill in the last few years.  The last pants I bought tore and the back zip lost a tooth after very little use, and my last two pairs of storm 2.0 boots also have developed holes way too easily.

This morning I asked for recommendations on the AuStrøm facebook group's page and about ten people all responded with Forma Adventure boots.  A trip to AMX in Blair Athol ensued and after trying the highs and the lows walked out with a pair of lows and wore them for the ride home. Very comfortable although I did noticed what a couple of online reviews said about gear lever changes.  That said, I'll give them a proper 'running in' before whingeing about that.

I can vouch for the safety aspects after hitting an esky at highway speed with the left foot.   Cage driver going on holidays did not tie down his load and it landed in the middle of the highway.   I had blue plastic from the esky on the toe and side of the boot but no real damage

I have a pair of Alpinestar Roam Boots... ++

I actually picked them up on eBay secondhand for what I thought was a bargain price. They were in as new condition.
It was just sheer luck that they were the right size and I find them really comfortable!

Besides the price, I was attracted to them due to them being fastened with velcro straps.
I broke my right ankle and fibula some years back so have a bit of metalwork holding it all together so figured the adjustability of the straps would be better suited to my larger ankle, more so than a zip.

Pussies ........... here's some real man's boots.

This is from an old RM Williams web page. RMW, so there would be no disputing the quality, they look purdy, but given the $$, I'm not sure that many were sold, and those that were sold, I'd be pretty sure they weren't used riding.

I have a pair of RMW boots, classic style, elastic sides, about cost me about 5% of the above.   Far more than I've ever paid for any footwear, but boy-oh-boy they are comfortable, nonetheless I don't wear 'em on the bike due to the risk of damage.

I also have some Rossi boots from the mid-70's, and a couple of pair of Thomas Cook Johnny Reb high cut boots from the 80's, a brown pair and a black pair (to match my belts).  Just checked the MCA website https://www.mcas.com.au/shop/item/johnny-reb-rogue-boots-01?gclid=CjwKCAiAg9rxBRADEiwAxKDTurvF-dvQyuf4YYeXkL-ZGjQpaeB1if2B3VG23TZ_UzyKU7JqDp0wMxoC1goQAvD_BwE, they have something similar (perhaps the real deal) for $240.00.  If they are as good a quality as what I paid $125 for way back then, these would be a good buy now.

Back in the mid 70's when I lived in Cairns.  For riding around town, safety footwear was a pair Adidas Rome, some days it was just a pair of thongs, or less.  The Rossi's were for riding the CREB Track.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

I have 3 pairs of Rossi boots. Early 80's motocross/enduro boots with the buckles up the sides. Great boots but the leather around the calf seems to have shrunk - who'd have thought that. Like Wild Rose I have a pair of short (801 Duo) and a pair of calf length (P134) Rossi's. Australian made and super comfy for me. It is a great shame we, as a country, can't make a decent pair of motorcycle boots that are competitive with imports.
Like Michael, I too have a pair of RMW's - purchased in 1974, re-soled about 10 years ago and had the elastic sides replaced about 5 years ago - they look as good as new and also super comfy, although it's a bit of a struggle to pull them on these days - bloody leather must have shrunk like the early Rossi's.

I still have a pair of Rossiters (Rossi's), bought way back in the 80's.
They are still in surprisingly good condition considering I attended heaps of Rallies back in the day...
Unfortunately they too seem to have shrunk...either that or my feet have grown...  :crackup
