Rehydration products for sale

Rehydration products OzSTOC pricing

After having been hit with a few enquires in OzSTOC & FarRiders, I am putting up some products for rehydration that I stock in my business Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety Toowoomba.

All items are inclusive of GST, and will be plus postage unless you can arrange to have it picked up from me or meet me somewhere.

Before you pick the pricing apart, I am sure that with eBay and the like you can find cheaper places, but I am putting the service out there to the group in case you want to deal with a real person.

Post below if your interested or want to know more and I will answer questions. You can also call me on 0488 385 858

Thorzt is designed for the workplace, so had low sugar or sugar free options, and does not have all the rubbish the service station drinks have in them, I have placed product links with everything for extra information. If you are browsing their products and want a price on something let me know

Streak,

A point to remember when using electrolytes is that they are best used after exercise as they replace minerals lost due to excessive sweating, water is best for general rehydration, and excessive use of electrolytes can damage your kidneys.

totally agreed, thats why i only use them when it is hot and crappy on the bike, we have had to do a ton of training to sell the products for the very reasons you have applied above  :thumb people drink it thinking it is like a cordial, when it has a specific purpose  8)

Dead right on that guys.  As a rule of thumb for firefighters, we recommend 1 x electrolyte drink in about 10 if they are really working hard. That can equate to 250ml cup size up to 1/2 litre bottles.

Can't use it for a jump start then, I guess, even if it is DC.

To be fair, the links were posted nearly 2 years ago, so the suppliers have change their websites since then.

How do you get the rubbery plastic taste out of them though? I bought one a few years back for quad biking but the water was tainted by taste of the liner. Used ittwice thenthrew itaway.  Any ideas?

I prefer to get off the bike every 100 to 150 km and stretch the legs etc. so I don't see the need to have one. Even on shorter day trips I toss a cooler bag with ice bricks and drinks into the top case if we need a drink along the way.

We don't have any issues with taste......clean them with the Camelbak tablets or vanilla essence and all good.

Unless you're doing a non stop trip I don't see the need. Just buy some gateraide at the next servo you refuel at

I agree with this.  Unless you are working your butt off in the middle of nowhere on dirt and need to hydrate often or you are doing a time critical IBA ride and need to drink while riding because you are only stopping every 5 hours you probably don't need one.  I always have 2 x 600ml bottles and depending on the day/length of ride maybe one powerade in the topbox for general riding just in case I break down (or blow up a motor). A camelbak is an expensive, fiddly water container if you don't have to carry water on your back and drink it through a plastic straw.

I do however like them, my wife and I have one each.

Well. I put a water bottle in the topbox for the Blackwood RTE. Unbeknown to me it leaked and I have spent two days cleaning mouldy Honda carpet. I wont fall for that again. I have a bladder for the RST jacket but its heavy if full(2 ltrs)

I'd be surprised if there was any system that completely protects against user/unfortunate error.  I saw a very experienced LD rider refill a camelback 12 hours into a 23.5 hour day ride (with water and some electrolytes) and had to stop 20k's up the road because it was running down his butt crack and soaked his duds.  I don't think he went mouldy though even though it took a looooong time to dry out, eeeew.
Won't mention his name though, it was just an ox-ident.  :wink1

I carry two one litre drink bottles in my top box, and have a decent guzzle whenever I stop, usually every couple of hours.    I discussed hydration with my doctor, and on his advice I put a couple of teaspoons of gatoraide powder in each bottle, which speeds up the absorption of the liquid into your body, and reduces the overfull feeling after a big drink.   Weak cordial, some fruit juice, or virtually any additive to the water gives the same benefit.
