Good ol ST does it again....
« on: November 29, 2011, 10:01:03 AM »
Here is a copy of a post I made some months back after having a bit of fun on a winding road.......

Good Ol ST does it again....
Oooh I'd love to look at the motard forum tonight.......

You see, I've waited on the side of the road for all the traffic ahead of me to get away.

The road ahead for the next 10 miles is something like I imagine the Dragon to be, with heaps of 15 and 20 mph hairpins thrown in. It is a small kind of Mecca to our two wheel brothers on perfect-weather weekends - plus, there is a great pub at the end of the ride!

I see some traffic coming up the straight behind me and move off.

Turns out it's a couple of motards (basically trail bikes with big, road tires fitted, which makes them go and handle like a blow-fly on red cordial!!).

Anyways - not wanting to hold them up, I sweep the windscreen into the hyper-flight position and accelerate to attack speed.

Boy! With my new PR2's on, I had to offer counselling services to my mirrors as they thought they were going to scrape the road surface!     :crazy

I must have looked like a river ferry to these two motards, and would love to have heard their conversation after they were totally smoked by this cumbersome Nimitz-class ST1300.      :grin

As they say on Wall ST..... It was a spirited session of banking!

Watched them grow smaller in the mirrors until they were no more.

This is another reason why we don't ride cruisers or wings my brethren.     :hatwave

Y'all know what I'm talking about!..... PURE LUST!      :rofl

Take care.

This one:

Zoom out to see the entire stretch. It ends at the Dayboro Pub, or the Daguilar Pub - depending on which way you're scootin'

Told you I had some great roads to show you when you were here Mr Nagle - this is just out my back door a few kms.

Cheers, Diesel

Hey Diesel.....................the Mount Mee Road............I know it so well. :thumbsup
I've driven it dozens of  times and ridden it numerous times.............and never get sick of it.

There are a few dangerous corners............a good mate of mine almost lost his leg after crashing out after a car put him off the road on one of the corners >:()......unfortunately he was never able to ride again.

But of course..........that could happen anywhere!

There are many good rides between Samford and Kenilworth hey!!
There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!
