OzSTOC Member loses ST1300 in flood.....
« on: February 27, 2013, 07:46:17 AM »
I got this msg from Jinxy who has had a spot of bad luck in the recent Bundaberg Floods........

Diesel, lost the ST in the latest floods along with my GSX750. ST was insured but not enough to buy another one. Have purchased a Honda CBR1100XX (Super Blackbird) with the money I had.

So no longer one of the elite but did have fun whilst it lasted. Could you pass on my best wishes to those in the group and let them know what happened.

Thanks

Jinxy (Ron MIENTJES)

Here is a pic of Jinxy and his (former) custom striped 13 (nearest camera).....

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Jinxy all the best with his replacement ride, and an easy time recovering from the floods.      :thumbs

At least it means we may still see him and the lovely Jay around on OzSTOC outtings - right Ron?

Cheers, Diesel

That's terrible.  Brings the losses that hundreds of people have endured into focus for us.
Another mate living there got his classic Beemer out to high ground, first thing.  Apparently Jinxy didn't have the same opportunity.
At least a Blackbird might help soften the pain, but it just ain't the same.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

No Waaaaayyyy... that sucks. What an awesome looking bike.

There should be a telethon to raise the difference for him to get another one.

Oh no, not fair...

Nothing will replace an ST, anything else is just a bike to ride until an upgrade is possible.

Wait....

Did he actually loose it?
as in can't find it, washed away?
or
loose it as in It can't be repaired?
Where was it? in his shed?

That's a tough break, but on the upside, the CBR1100XX is a great all-rounder.  I toured Tassie with a fellow and his wife who were on one back in 2004 when I was riding an old Yamaha XS650.
