Third time lucky ??

New member from Seville, Vic in the beautiful Yarra Valley.  Ulysses member and rider for 39 years, having previously owned
a multitude of bikes.

A couple of days ago I purchased a second hand '02 ST1300 (82,000ks) 2 owners, with lots of accessories. A nice clean unit
with full service history and an absolute delight riding it home to Victoria, via the coast highway.

However......the love affair with the seat lasted less than 1 hr. I hate it and will definitely do something about it in the future.
Apart from that, I have no problems with the bike. It's heavy, Yes!!  but that makes me concentrate a little more on what I am
doing and I think I need that these days.

Welcome aboard, mate from another VIC... make sure you fill out you details to the member map so we can contact you when we do another group ride...
As for the seat...well...yes it's horrible, I have an airhawke cussion for it, which makes the world of difference...

Hi Wayne and welcome to OzSTOC.   That darn seat is a problem for many riders, but there are solutions.  Here's a copy of another post regarding improvements to your seat.

"A decent sheepskin is just one strategy to make the OEM seat a little more comfortable, and yes it does make a difference.  Another tip to improve the OEM seat is to set the front adjustment on the middle setting, and force the rear onto the lowest setting.  This has the effect of tilting the seat back a little and making it sit flatter.   With the sheepskin and the tilt, I no loner feel the need to have the seat reshaped."

Welcome Wayne and ditto to the comments above. Try this first before you spend money. You may find you do not need to do anything else.
That's the only shortcoming I've found with the 1300. Enjoy.
