thermostat
« on: April 13, 2013, 03:29:57 PM »
Hi guys,

Did a search for thermostat info on this site as i suspect my thermostat either doesn't work or does not exist due to the bike running too cold. Found the info i was looking foe, mainly alternative thermostats that are easy to buy and are suitable for the st1100. My querie is, the Triton TT240-180 fits the honda as stated on this website, cost $23. I went to Supercheap and they had a Triton TT2040-180. Is this the same as was stated? I  don't want to take the old thermostat off, or find out it isn't there and not have a replacement to fit. Also, what size O ring is on the housing, so I can get that too.

Cheers,
Hobs

The Honda part number for the "O" ring is 91307-MB0-003

Description: O-RING, 54X2 (ARAI)

Not to sure on the thermostat as I ordered OEM parts from the US.

Just make sure when you put all back together that the mating surfaces are clean. Some people suggest using a sealant of some type as well but I didn't and no leaks from anywhere from my cooling system with the work that I've just completed.

I did apply a thin coating of vaseline  to make it easier for new hoses to slip on the fittings.
