Photos of riser and wind deflectors
« on: April 23, 2013, 01:33:31 PM »
At the Ulysses parade I was asked by another OZstoc member if I could post some photos of my ST1100's risers and wind deflectors.

The hand wind deflectors do very little now that I have the Roxx risers fitted (3"?). The side deflectors are good and now reduce the rain hitting my legs while riding.

Before fitting the risers I was getting pains in my wrists, and the risers have alleviated that. The angle of the handlebars could still be brought back a little.
For longer trips I have wrapped some blue sleeping mattress around the throttle and then taped it up. I prefer this thickness and it helps with pins and needles in my right hand fingers.

Juxt measured the risers and they are 3 1/2". I bought them from the U.S. as I had trouble getting anything like them here. the Wind deflectors were purchased from David Silver Spares in the U.K.

They're a very good design in the way you can loosen the clamps to set them to your preferred position.  Most risers have just one position.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I like the Roxx risers as they're really well made. I had to change the front brake hose for a longer one, and re-routed the rest.

I have a pair of (unused) Rox risers spare, if anyone wants to give them a try?
