Hi everyone. I am a new member and looking forward to meeting some of you guys/attending rides etc. I live on acres in the Hawkesbury and have had a number of bikes...three BMW K series, a beautiful dark blue ST1100 which I loved and a black FJR 1300 Yamaha which was recently written off. A young lady who was travelling in the opposite direction to myself was listening to her GPS which told her to keep right. So I met her on my side of the road as I swept around a left hand bend at Bell above the weigh station. I was always going to hit her but managed to avoid a head on, hit her in the passenger door behind the driver. The bike and I went down the road...bike written off. It was my lucky day in more ways than one...no injuries and the subsequent purchase of a replacement bike...a brand new ST1300 black in colour. I could not believe my luck, the ST1300's are apparently in run out mode..$16,990 ride away. To good to miss. I have just racked up 1,200 kms..nicely run in and ready for the first service. I love the bike and prefer it to the FJR. Looking forward to meeting some members...Steve.
