Laurie, That's quite a big number, and I hope my 13 will achieve that without too many issues.

Most of us think we've been a long way with 111,111.  Headed for the big Quarter Mill this year!

Good grief!!  Who buys them?  Wreckers?

Same here

Not if you've only owned the bike for two years.   :grin

My last car had 497,000km when sold (third engine, second gearbox, second diff), one before had 510,000.   :eek   Both were still going strong. Modern oils help a lot.  :wink1

Hi fellas
Ive owned the bike for 15 years, and for a lot of that time it was my only form of transport. That accounts for the high numbers. I also did the run from Lismore to Grenfell/Lismore to Sydney on a regular basis, and that racked up a lot of ks.
Apart from some recent gremlins(reported in other posts here) its been thoroughly reliable, and a pleasure to own and ride.
I think the secret to mechanical longevity is to be fastitious with maintenance, and dont thrash  them.
There is a lot of pleasure and personal satisfaction to be had in owning an old, but well cared for machine.
Cheers
Laurie

Did that make-over include a respray?  If not, the paint is remarkably good for the age and distance.

Hi biggles
I repainted the bike about a year ago (i think!), I lose track of time. Its a home brew candy red, much brighter than the original wineberry colour. The plastic bits were the beige colour that was used on the 95 models, I matched some grey to the panniers and painted the lower fairing, pivot covers etc grey. The bike looks quite tidy.

It was repainted before the Blackheath event last year

Reminds me of RM Williams boots. When I bought a pair, I was told both the uppers and the soles can be replaced.

Yes Bluey, all the mechanicals can be replaced but the body is a lot harder.   :wink1  Really only sold the last one because I couldn't drive a manual anymore.  :'(
