Bluehonda's new bike

Well I'm now the owner of a 2007 ST1300 and it seems a pretty good fit.
Hadn't planned to change from the 1100 but an opportunity presented itself and I just had to do it.
I didn't think I'd ever part with the ST1100 because they're such a good bike but I'm going to as the new bike will be staying (much to the disappointment of my 14 year old, he wanted me to keep it till he can ride on the road).
Can anybody tell me about the accuracy of the 1300 speedo as I'm cornering at least 10kph faster than the 1100 and that's with a dodgy front tyre.
Now I've got to get a new handle as Bluehonda doesn't fit and Darksilvernearlyblackhonda is just too long.
I've got to get a 2nd ignition key bought and made, what might that cost?

The speedo on my 2008 ST1300 reads 8km/h higher than my actual speed at 110km/h, when compared to the GPS indicated speed.
i.e. 110 km/h actual speed shows 118km/h on the speedo.
This has been confirmed by one of those speed indicators that are mounted over the highway in Victoria.
No idea about the ignition key, sorry.

You're up for the best part of $100.  The chipped key is around $50, the cutting thereof is about $30 and then some Honda dude has to register it with your ECU, which will cost $??

my ST1100 speedo is out about the same with my gps to my speedo, i tend to use my gps more often than my speedo these days anyway as it is more accurate...

Congrats Brad......my Speedo reading 100kph gives me GPS speed of 95 kph with new tyres.

If you go by a traffic cop on a bike, he may do you the favour of using the gun to check your speed. I did. Also the patrol cars have calculated speedos.

A mate went to a station that had highway patrol cars and they checked him out.

They'll never certify any of it, of course, but hey, you're looking to just know how the speeding is reading, right?

How about Grey Ghost for a tag?  Or if you remember him, how about Moseby.  (Mosebey's Raiders.) Only genuine baby boomers will pick on that one.

well done with the new bike. My speedo is under around 8Kph

You will love the ST1300  . My 2002 one was 6kph out and my new one is 8kph out brand new out of the box.

Thanks Jean, I'm coming to Ebor and so is Karen so it'll be good to get away with her and have her meet some of the Ozstoc pillions.
Just need the rain to ease off, it's pouring here at the moment on the sunny Mid Nth Coast.

Nice once Brad.

Work on about a 7% error reading on your speedo and you should be fine.

Ipso facto - 107km/h indicated = 100km/h actual.
