The Goldwing has style, but while the F6B has many in-common features it look very American or is it "AMaReekin'" IMHO.  :whistle

I'd liken the F6B to a class of "Fat Arse Cruiser." Sorry, but cannot find it attractive in any way, shape or form. Not for me. :H

I much prefer the 2010 American made look rather than the later 2012 Japanese made version with the contrasting colour.

Just dropped into one of the local dealers and he reckons that the ST is gone for about the next two years until they bring out another model that will be order only. Apparently there will be no demos to ride first. Honda is believed to be getting out of all larger bikes including the VFR's as they are selling too well compared to the 500's and 600's.

Hopefully this is not as bad as it will get, but the future is looking a bit short sighted by Japan.

Totally agree. Alas, when I have the money and the need I don't think Honda would be getting the sale for my next bike.

Honda will have missed the boat with me as well.  The ST11 will stay, but is a 96 model and will have over 200,000kms on it in the next few months and the next timing belt will be due at 300,000kms  :think1  I have done 17,000kms since October 2012 so might have to slow down the riding  :wht11

Trouble is in the ACT that there are restrictions on where you can ride to and how far each year.  Discount rego but you can ride much!

One day will take one for a lap.....pre 2010 interests me more in appearance as well.

Although I don't think Pockey would enjoy the seat.....she sleeps long enough now on the ST.  :butt

Maybe we just hang onto our ST's for OzSTOC rides, and move up to later day rides. Our grandkids can have the pleasure of having the world's biggest annual OzSTOC Honda ST Vintage Day Out events, held annually at the AMM. (Or at Streak's place)

What is an original condition ST going to be worth in 30 years?  I've seen a '72 CB750 advertised for $40,000. They were about $1400 & the CB500 was $1100 when they were new. :think1

I had a look at the F6B at Ulysses AGM in Maryborough.
Not my style of bike. So I bought a new ST 1300  :grin

The shape of the Goldwing (and also the ST) has a certain dignity about it.  The F6B just looks plain impertinent. No time for it.

It's funny how most have a love or hate thing for the F6B.....I like it, I have no use for it, and it doesn't suit my needs at all.....but I see the attraction  :thumb

I guess it's what takes your fancy. Initially when I saw the pics of the F6B I thought it looked o.k. but when I saw it in the flesh at Maryborough I had a change of heart. The front looked good but that rear end, noo.. noo Mr Honda.

RexJ's comment re:keeping a bike in original condition and running in the hope that one day it mihgt be worth a bit as a collectors item.  I wish I had of kept my 78 Yamaha XS1100E ( have owned it for 32 years ) in running order, the restoration is going to cost a fortune.  The idea is to keep the 94 ST1100 ticking over.

Not a fan of Goldwings, I think they are pretentious. If I had the money to buy one I would prefer to spend it on 2 or 3 ST's.

True .... Mine attracts a lot of attention as I ride around, even more when parked up.
I used to have a similar point of view as yours until a couple of years ago after riding one ... The comfort, power, luggage space for road trips and all those usable accessories including integrated gps, comms.
After having mine for 12 months I have been pleasantly surprised at it agility in the tighter stuff plus the comfort allowing me to cover a lot more K's without the sore butt and fatigue.
