I have just reassembled Ruby after installing grip warmers because Bathurst cured me of cold hands forever. I'll be riding early morning inland for Bargara, so it will be cold. Will be a good tryout of the grips for Ebor. As with any of these installations when I do them, I test everything before panelling up. The tank cover takes a bit of fitting, and the seat can be a challenge with an Airhawk and sheepie complicating fitting.
Got it all together and went for a short ride. Realised I hadn't checked the driving lights...
Not a lumen to be seen
At least I only had to take the seat and side panels off. Somewhere along the process I'd shorted the hot supply to my socket that also feeds the driving light relay. It would have been nice if it just fused but something made the whole fuse holder melt, so then it was into the shed digging through the treasures for a replacement fuse holder since the shops were long-closed. Good thing I don't throw anything away!
Believe it or not, that's the condensed version of this afternoon's fun. I'll spare you more details.
Another shake-down run in the morning and she'll be ready to roll.
