pannier elastic straps

Just wondering if anyone knows where I could obtain the elastic straps for the inside of the panniers.
Mine were missing when I purchased the bike, I think it might be tidier than just stuffing everything into a garbage bag.

Supercheap have some good, thin elastic occys that will do the job. Mine didn't have them either. Don't think they are standard.

This reply is from another thread Jim - There are two types of pannier bags, thin style which fits in one half of your pannier leaving the other side free for your own gear; and a full size bag which takes up all of your pannier which is easy to cart your gear in.

Hi JW.   I made my own for the cost of a bit of thin bungee cord from a camping shop.   It works a treat and only cost a few dollars.

it's ok Pete, seniors moments are allowed and yes you did post.

Now if you had an 1100 you wouldn't have this little issue. After 14 years I could do with some new ones though.

Like Pete... I made my own. I got the cord from BCF. Rather than threading it through each of the 4 eyes and tying it off (making it permanent) I made 4 hooks from some unused figure-8 chain I had (prised open a link at one end). Works a treat.

Spend a little bit more and get the bungee from a marine/boat yard.  They have the UV rated ones, not that it matters as they are in a case but they guaranteed that the rubber inside will be in a continuous strip.  They have the most stretch and will last much, much longer.
