Distance traveled lately
« on: June 19, 2013, 09:46:34 PM »
I was just sitting around thinking I seemed to have been doing a few things on the ST11 lately, and some nagging thoughts about I should check the air filter and change the fuel filter, perhaps do a carb synch and give the bike a wash.

Turns out I have done 30,000kms in the last 12 months, 17,000kms of which have been in 2013 so far.  And I have not really been anywhere as such that I can remember...well it does not feel like it.  Just Ozstoc events here and there, FarRides and some day rides.

Perhaps it is just the people you go to meet up with, go for rides and generally do nothing with make it seem like fun  :beer

April 20th I bought my 03 ST home. Already put over 6000k's on it. How does the time go by so fast?
3 rides of any length and a couple of trips into town.

I've done a lick over 28,000 in the last 12 months and about 11,000 so far this year.

If I don't ride a reasonable distance each week, I have withdrawals, but I have been running out of new roads.

As a guestimate, fuel at 8c per kilometre for fuel, that is $2240 for fuel, about $500 for tyres, $350 for service/oil etc., $550 insurance and reg. (single seat) equates to ~$3640 without considering depreciation and major repairs/upgrades.

~13c per Km.

~$70 per week.

I can't imagine (it fills me with almost a feeling of horror!) not having the bike, so it is well worth every cent.

I think I might be coming in for the lowest kms travelled in a year since I've had my 1100.

Just over 3000 kms so this year far but bike was off the road for thee months but only 8000 kms in the last 12 months which contrast t0 the first two years @ 30,000 a year.

Cost per km equals 29 cents since Jan. which includes, fuel and repairs ( Timing Belt, Cooling system etc) Still have front fork seals and tyres to add yet so that km rate might go up a bit.

Fuel alone is 8 cents/Km as well.
