How did he do that!!!
« on: July 09, 2013, 07:06:00 PM »
Saw this unbelieveable scene at a prang on Gympie Rd this afternoon. The Commodore (driven by a non- Australian) ran up the back of the bike and partially over back wheel. The front of the Commore was lift up almost to the full suspension travel and the bike stayed upright the whole time.

They tried to jack up the Commodore to get it off the bike but were unsuccessful.

Can't say I've ever seen something like this before. The rider was walking around after the prang. And so was the driver!!!!!!

I think I would struggle leaving the driver of the car on his feet after this. Lets call it a rush of blood, shall we. :wink1 :well

The driver was a bit shorter. Maybe Tackleberry can give us the legality of a small slip on the oil patch.

I wonder if it was a "rolling collision", in that the rider wasn't apparently injured by being thrown violently rearwards.  That might account for the car rolling up onto the rear wheel of the bike.
Just guessing, since it was obviously a fairly solid encounter judging by the car's front end.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

You can give just as good information as I can.  :cop  Don't be one of those I saw it so I can't do the paperwork commentators.  You office Johnny's - think you loose all knowledge when you go off the road. :law

I do know however that the only thing saving the bloke that wiped off my pannier on the ST1100 with his bullbar was the 2000 witnesses on the Bruce Highway and the fact that I couldn't get to him quick enough. :|||| :cuss

Somewhere,  :think1  I have a photo of a '58 FE Holden with a large English motorbike wedged well and truly into the side of it, mid pillar. Wrote both units off,  and the rider kept flying over the car for some considerable distance being a bit worse than sore when finally located.

The funny thing about the Holden bit was that the incident happened in Butterworth, near Penang in Malaysia.  :crazy

Must have been on an epic journey for his annuals - perhaps.  :crackup

I'll put it up one day when I have one of those major find sessions in my large collection of unsorted slides, which is next to the large boxes of unsorted photos.

Very similar, except the Holden didn't bend in the middle. The bikes in about the same place.

Amazing how it appears to have been about a foot off the ground when it hit.
