What kind of weather or temperatures can we expect?   I'm getting worried, 'cause it's wet and freezing here in Adelaide.

Hey STinky Pete,

I can suggest you go to either BOM weather or Weatherzone on your computer and type in 'Uralla NSW;. The computer will give you the temps etc for a week at a time plus forecasts.  Knowing what I know about Uralla (worked in the area for over 20 years) you can probably expect heavy morning frosts, minus temperatures most mornings and max temps usually around the mid-teens, if you're lucky!!  Usually a cold westerly or southerly blowing as well.  Pack the thermals, make sure the heated grips work properly and rug up!

I'll see you at the bar for a rum or two...medicinal purposes only of course!

If I said it was going to be a little crisp....I would be lying to you  :whistle

If we have clear days & nights, daytime temps will max out around 12 degrees and a little warmer than that for the Saturday ride around Dorrigo but a little cooler around Ebor on the way......night time temps well below 0, and that's why we will head off no earlier than 0900 Saturday to get some sunshine on the roads we will travel.

So if we have some serious cloud cover, nights will be warmer and days colder.......add some rain then we can talk sleet & snow but if the wind comes with it......ironically it will be to cold for snow  :whistle

We are a few hundred metres higher than Uralla and you can drop a few more degrees off the above temps....particularly during the day  :OldMan

Safe to say from a warm clothing point of view......if'in ya own it, bring it  |-i

It will just make you appreciate the roaring wood fires all the more  :hatwave

Uralla and Guyra weather is no problem. They are both higher than Canberra (I am at 530 metres or so, they are 1000 metres plus above sea level) so I just expect it to be a bit colder than home.  And they keep on saying that Canberra is a cold place... :rofl

Once the sun is out (if it does) it is not that bad.

1000 mtrs plus 330mtrs to be accurate in our backyard at 1330 mtrs, but your spot on about the sun....12 degrees out of the wind and in the sun is superb  :runyay

Hay Plains Pete ?? :runyay

That's the way we are going, and I actually quite like the Hay Plains.   It's much like riding the northern SA outback with lots of "me" pondering time, and horizon to horizon views.   It's part of what this great country is, and I have always loved every kilometer that I've travelled over the years.

I've never found the Hay Plains boring. There are some monstrous dams along there (2Km along road and more than that back across paddock) and different crops growing through the seasons. Yes, it is 'set the throttle lock and lean on tank bag' type of road, but like most things in life it is your attitude that counts.

Just booked a double room for Marissa and I at Uralla. Looking forward to the trip and digging out all the winter riding gear I once owned. Have to find it first? :think1

The only odd part was I questioned the guy about the price as he quoted me $80 for a double room?
I mentioned that it was down as $70 for a double on our website? He told me it was $80 for a double room for two people and $70 for a double room if only one person stays in the room?

I wonder if they only wash one side of the sheets on those nights?  :eek

Room 11 had electric blankets and a working heater. STroppy stayed in 10 with none of these  ;-*  A tip is to turn on the column heater as soon as you get there to warm up the room.

I should be in Uralla the night before, or more, just wandering aimlessly over those nasty twisty roads for a bit...

Just had a chat with Leah from the Pub and she advised that they have put the Accommodation prices up just a little......but as we made our booking in July last year they will honour the price quoted....... :like

So that's $70 Double / Twin and $40 a single

Hello people, unfortunately I have to pull out of this one. I woke up with a sore back 2 weeks ago and had become progressively worse where a ct scan this week showed narrowing of nerve channel on 3 disks + a couple of other problems that I won't bore you with. My right hand and arm have been permanently numb and am getting excruciating pain at certain angles with the right arm. I have a specialist Appointment in July and am totally off the bike till then.
I have spoken with Johnny and he is taking over my room, number 7.
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend and please post as many photos as possible.
