What bikes do you have in the 'cave ?
« on: December 23, 2011, 03:45:25 PM »
Hi everyone, seasons grettings and a restful and peaceful holiday season to you.

I was just sharing a beer with a mate in my man cave and I got to wondering that maybe other ST riders have a passion for other brands and styles of ride.
I would be interested in taking a virtual trip through your man cave... or woman cave!
I have always loved garages and the anticipation of what they might reveal.
I worked as roadside assistance mechanic in another life and part of my duties was to attend to the vehicles of clients on extended holiday..lucky sods.
Anyway, the thrill of seeing a new garage has yet to be told in a councellors room 'cause maybe that is where it belongs. :runyay
but if you have something tucked away there, well, show us what you got :butt

Show us what ya got

Hi,

I'll just drop the cave reference unless you consider my pc in the lounge room an equalivent.

My partner has a black Lifan V250 cruiser which she is learning to ride. It's a copy of the Virago 250. We bought it new for around $3500 on the road. Saw it advertised Jan 2010 in Sydney on special price so dealer contacted Adelaide dealer and we got it for same price inc. 6 months rego.

I've ridden it a couple times with partner on back but the rear seat is designed for occaisional use, so is really only a single person bike. Whenever I get on it I have trouble finding the foot rests.

Pictures later, but I have my previous bike parked in the carport.  A 1978 GS1000 Suzuki, but I have only owned it since 1980.  It is a bit modified.

Must be something about those gs's, a mate has his original still in the shed aswell. I was a bike mechanic in the 80's working at a suzuki dealer...GS"s, Katana"s everywhere! :thumbsup

They were a real sweet bike. I was the lucky one who got to put breakin miles on the the bikes the boys bought to race. They ddn't like riding, just racing ...I remember how radical the "kat"was with it's race crouch and suede set.
mmmm !!

How do you manage to get your pride and joys in there?....
....is your dog house like the Tardis? way bigger on the inside?

Hopefully you behave yourself and don't have to find out... too often :thumb

Mornin' All...

First up hope yas all had a tops New Years Eve. :thumb

OK question without notice...if you have 2 examples of the same thing (in this case a couple of ST's), l see little value of parkin' em nightly in the same 'cave'...so l have taken the liberty of occupying a couple of square meters in someone elses garage...so can l clam this bit of the garage as an extension to my 'man-cave' :think1

Cioa, the can :)

Whats in my cave is my black bitck 1300 and 2 KTM 300e and a 200 for my kids.Had to get rid of 2 ktm''s . I did have 4 ktm's but 2 kids are old enought to buy their own.Cost me too much. The 300 is a 2stroke electric start, for me with the gimpy leg.
You have to have enough room in the cave to get the black bitch naked.thats a job in it's self.
Cheers Aj :blk13

My cave is still in disarray, but about to be tidied up and bikes moved around.  I will post up a picture of the last three bikes I have owned, once the front wheel is back on the ST. Two of the bikes are currently registered  :runyay

I would so love to have 2 more bikes in my stable, a Honda CBR Super Blackbird, and an 1800 Wing..............but somehow I don't think my wife would understand. I already pay registration and insurance for my bike, plus 3 cars, a boat and trailer, and a large box trailer, and as much as I'd like to add to my stable, it just "ain't gunna happen", well not unless I have a win in lotto, and then "I'm gunna needa bigga shed" :grin

I couldn't agree more about the other two desirable bikes, a 'Bird and a "Wing.
The three cover all bases.  Fortunately the ST is a good cover for all three, with acknowledged limitations away from the middle.
In a perfectly administered bureaucracy, we would have one rego and insurance to cover the triumvirate, since you can only ride one at a time.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
