One cent flights
« on: July 26, 2013, 11:09:55 PM »
Recently i got sent an email from http://www.onecentflights.com, which went straight into my spam folder.
Upon closer inspection I thought this sounded too good to be true - flights to anywhere for just one cent?

If it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, it must be a duck....right?

It could also be an expensive duck too, as the following reviews show:

http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/10/why-one-cent-flights-will-cost-you-more-than-one-cent/
http://www.brw.com.au/p/tech-gadgets/one_cent_flights_zeroes_in_on_its_COpb4MQ84Vg5ifLODDiyJN

On the other hand, if you're plucky enough to hold out to the very last, you could win yourself some seriously cheap flights.

Here's the key paragraph:

"This is statistically impossible – like all forms of gambling, from the humble bingo game right up to high-roller casinos, most people necessarily have to lose money for the model to work."

If it looks too good to be true...
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
