It's certainly an interesting concept, and would be easier for ambos to remove in the event of a crash. (unless of course, they'd never encountered the design before)

Gotta love anything with an endorsement like, "If you've got a chin bar, you can enter from the rear." They've got my attention.  :popcorn

What a dammed good design for a new style helmet!!. I love this idea, getting it on and off looks so easy and because the thing actually opens up while you are putting it on and taking it off the actual fit is much better and thus does not require some tight strap round your chin...I would think this would be far more comfortable and easy to wear for long hours riding. Of course the Harley riders will scoff at it because they are used to wearing such simple pots on their heads all the time, but who cares what they think!

I note that the voices of the two descriptive guys on the video are so strongly Australian whist the introducer of the clip is so obviously American; does this mean that Australia is once again out-shining the States when designing new stuff??

 o:)
Cheers,
Paul

Yep, on a serious note, this design looks very interesting. If this helmet can marry up with the current advances in communication technology that are being developed at the moment both here and in Russia, I think we are in for a very interesting future in the helmet market.

Also, I like the idea that they can bring the chin area further under the chin.. hopefully this will help with wind noise..

Hi Rod,

The helmet is due to be released early 2014, and will be available in Australia, as Voztec resides in Sydney.

The price for the first model will be around $800 and will be a Tri Composite shell and weighs approximately 1460 grams.

Keep an eye on both Facebook and Web Site for updates as the come to hand over the coming months...

Kind Regards

Wow... what a great Idea... I reckon the road noise would greatly decrease as well, if they include a flap of something which would seal around the neck...

I was looking around for a new helmet , but may just hold off until this comes out

My current Nolan N102 supposedly weighs 1850g, so if the Voztec only weighs 1460g then that's a good weight saving!
