NSW central/south coast
« on: August 16, 2013, 09:15:55 PM »
Hey guys. Well I just got back from a week re taking my route home from blackheath AGN, sadly in a car this time.
I wanted to show the wife the beauty of this region.

I even found the spot I wish to move to (in my dreams) which is around fairhaven.

Now the problem my wife has challenged me to do is find a fast route there. The only way I've found is straight up the Hume from maryborough, vic. and around ACT. But surly there must be a faster way?

Any thoughts?

Is that Fairhaven up near Woy Woy?  Fastest way is the Hume, though Sydney on the M7, but boring.  Nicer way is the back way through Bathurst, Putty Road, Wisemans Ferry Road, but takes a lot longer if time is the issue.

I just really love that lake/beach area, and so my wife said if we can spend more time there if we could find a fast way to get there.

That is a great area. The road from Bermagui to Tathra is well worth taking as lots of beach scenery, then up around Candelo.

Princes Highway would be the fastest. Taking the Hume than the Snowy Highway is longer, but more 110kph road might make up a bit of time.  Through the mountains is more fun, but not faster.

Nothing worth having is easy to come by Marcus, just remember that the greatest achievements are made by those who have never lost the ability to dream great dreams!  :grin

There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!

I really like the deck at the Tathra pub, as there is something about eating while watching the ocean and looking at the whales as they go past.

I think a Canberra and area fish and chip run is on the cards, if only to Batemans Bay
