Replacement Battery
« on: August 22, 2013, 07:29:17 AM »
I would like to know if I should replace the existing after-market battery with a OEM Yuasa.
The one fitted is giving odd readings or none at all on instrument panel and is a Motobatt.
Help Please.

What indications on the panel are you getting that you are blaming on the battery?

If the engine is cranking fine, the battery is fine and you've got an indication problem.

I have had all the computer display drop out including clock and all read outs return to zero.
Shinny had the same issue some time ago and problem was solved by replacing the battery

Fair enough.  No need to buy OEM.  Have a read of the post using the Search button.  There are quite a few ideas there, including the new tech Lithium jobbies.

Have got a price from Team moto for an after-market one with a CCA of 340 for $89.00.
This is the cheapest around with the highest out-put.

Go buy it.  CCA is where it's at.  If you get 2 years out of it at that price it was good buying.
It would be Chinese at that price, but their stuff is as good as anyone else's these days.
