Engineers deserve huge credit for designing such marvels.  The mathematics involved, considering they were using slide rules and log tables, excels today's computer-designed machinery.  Imagine the surveying that was undertaken to align the foundations so precisely that the spans built on them met perfectly!

Its a pity they did not properly integrate the road traffic with continued use of trams and the ferries.

You're kidding aren't you Neale ........  The Bribie Island Bridge connects Mainland Australia with Queenslands only off shore island.......

What does the Sydney Harbour Bridge do? Besides looking like a coat hanger.... Come on there's just no comparison.

I flew a Hawk jet trainer under Sydney Harbour Bridge, cant do that with the Bribie Is bridge o:) o:)

No longer dreaming. Past bikes,XR80 1979,DT175 1980,XT250 G 1980(X2), XT 250T, GPZ900r (x2), H100, TT350, TTR250.  current bikes Honda Varadero 1999, GPZ 900r 1986, XT 250T 1987, and newest and best , 2006 ST1300.
