Bourke to Cobar
« on: September 10, 2013, 06:17:02 PM »
I'm planning a route home from Inverell.   Has anyone ridden Bourke to Cobar on the Kidman Way (Highway 87).  It looks like a good road on Google Street View.

Ridden it a few times, last in 2010...tis quite straight in parts...few trucks...many goats, if you see em on one side of the road chances are there may be others on the other :wink1

Cheers the can :-)

Not a bad run, I have seen  lots of critters but the road is good (this info is a couple of years old), its the stretch between cobar and broken hill that always worries me (this info is about 7 months old) daylight only road for me.

Thanks guys.   It's new country for me and I'm keen to explore on the way home.

Good road BUT ONLY 1-2HOURS AFTER DAWN OR BEFORE DARK.
Critters everywhere.

Cheers

Watch out for the wildlife, as always out that way.  Cobar to Broken Hill is really bad (did it last year). Take your pick of goats, roos, emus etc.  Even later in the morning keep a good lookout.  The country is relatively open so not as bad as when scrub on the side of the road.
