In from Canada
« on: October 04, 2013, 02:13:24 PM »
Hmmm....came across this site on a google search looking for used highway blades...

A little history...61 yrs old and been riding most of my life...currently running a 07ST1300...silver being the fastest colour...

I think I'll spend a little time having a look around....

Safe travels....

Brian

Oh wow... welcome mate, I absolutely love your country... riding in Canada would be amazing, I did a hire drive there last year...so regret not hiring a bike for it though...

What part of Canada are you in?

Welcome  Brian to the OzSTOC Forum  :beer
I see you live in Peterborough Ontario Canada. How many months a year can you ride your 07 Silver ST1300 as I would imagine it gets fairly cold there. My Wife and I went to Niagara Falls a couple of years ago, I think it was Easter and it was just starting to thaw out. We won't start the color debate as I know the Black ones always wins  :grin

Nope...won't be towing that with my ST...its a 4 X 8 galvanized factory second trailer that I used to bring the ST down from northern Ontario when I bought it....

Bike was 2 years old with less than 1000km on it and I got it for about $5000CDN under market value on Kijiji of all places...

Older fellow who bought it new kept hoping he would get healthy enough to ride it...when I picked it up the whole family came out, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles to say goodbye to their two wheel family friend...

Nice folks....

Brian

Nice folks....

You bought very well, such low kays and dollars.  In Australia Kijiji is called Gumtree.  Obviously they match the name to the country.  They're all owned by eBay.

Very touching that the whole family came to say goodbye to the bike.  Maybe they had all hoped the old guy would get well enough to enjoy it.
Or maybe they were relieved that he wouldn't be able to try any longer.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
