Toowoomba in the news again.
« on: October 15, 2013, 12:07:32 PM »
From September 2013 Australian Road Rider magazine p22

Long-term staff are the key to good customer service, says Toowoomba Honda Motorcycles dealer principal, Steve Andrews. He should know; his dealership has won the Honda National Dealer of the Year for 2012.
"Some of our staff have been with us for over 30 years and you don't get that in any industry nowadays," he says. "What metro dealer has a staff member for that long? We sell a guy a bike and three years later he might be trading in and he's dealing with the same staff. Sometimes we even remember their name and where they're from. People like to be treated like people."
Steve is a long-termer as well, having worked for the family business for 36 years. The dealership in Water Street was started by his father, Nev, in 1970 selling second-hand bikes, then new Cossacks and Bultacos. Coincidentally, they scored the Honda award in their 40th year selling the Big Red bikes.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
