I don't mind it.   Put a top box on and a larger screen in I could cop that.   The proof will be in the riding.

I have merged all the conversations about the honda CTX1300 into one place so everything is here.

And from seeing the CTX700 in person it does not look to bad  :thumb

Saw one at the bike show in Sydney. The look might grow on me, not sure, would have to ride it to see if the short screen was any more than a decoration. Wouldn't consider it at all until an electronic cruise control was available. C'mon Honda, get serious!

Just reviewing Deisel's spy photos. It must be a very good bike as obviously the rider doesn't need any safety gear.

It must have air bags huh.....  :crackup

SPOTTED! The CTX700 on the street...

But you'll have to work your way past the Queensland version of ATGATT.....

There y'ar - not so bad is it?         :o

Cheers, Diesel

PS - just saw on the Honda website - they have moved this bike from Sports Tourer to Tourer section!        :o

Just noticed in pic #2- is that a Police helmet?
Obviously- he's moonlighting when off-duty as a new bike test rider!

Another thing that I just noticed: the foot position is so far forward it could only be classed as a cruiser.
Any tourer worth his salt will tell you, while the forward position is an important relief from upright, it won't do the distance on its own.

Here's the latest effort from Honda to reassure us they are still thinking.

Whereas the F6B was a "Bagger" the F6C is supposed to be the new "Valkyrie".

Nup.  Don't think so.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/mcn/news/newsresults/new-bikes/2013/november/honda-reveals-new-f6c/

Clever the way it makes the earth spin backwards while it burns rubber.
Nup.  Not clever.  Dumb.

Honda certainly seem to have lost the plot.  They have copied the style of the failed DN01 with the CTX's and F6's, and the VFR1200 was a dud as well.  I wonder who does their research, or if they even talk to their customers.  :well

I'm sure they have a ear close to the ground when it comes to the sales market ...... They are in it to make money obviously.
It's not something I've looked at in any detail but it would be interesting to see what are the top 20 selling bikes globally

I Googled the CTX1300.  Shit! if that is what Honda think will replace the ST1300, they have another thing coming.  The engine may be the same cc, but the bike is definitely nothing near a suitable replacement.  Which, in my opinion, a replacement for an old model should be an improvement.  The CTX is a total piece of crap in my view.  Looks like there will not be a ST1300 on the radar in the future for me.   :butt to Honda, you have lost the plot.
Cheers,
Mick.

Maybe it will look something like this

Could be that some will start looking at :-

Competitors For The Honda ST1300

• BMW K
• Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS
• Moto Guzzi Norge
• Yamaha FJR

Im using an FJR for work now that Honda wasn't supplying STs. Nice bike and handles really well but I don't know that it will have the endurance the Honda has proven to have. Not a fan of the FJRs lack of front wind protection, the screen tends to suck all the weather in around it so when it is raining you get soaked. Never had that problem with the ST screen.

After careful consideration - NOPE !  The design team at Honda have lost the plot. (IMHO)

This new generation of 'designers' at Honda must be smoking wacky weed or something.  :crazy   :spank

This new thing, the CTX1300, looks just like an over sized DN01.   :fp

I'll stay old fashioned and stick with my ST1100 - it will probably out last me anyway.  :OldMan

Stay safe all of you.  :thumbsup

OUCH!!!!

http://www.visordown.com/road-tests-first-rides/uk-road-test-honda-ctx1300-review/25452.html

"The Pan makes 118hp at 8,000rpm and 86lbft at 6,500rpm. For the CTX1300, Honda has detuned the engine to 84hp at 6,000rpm and 78lbft at 4,500.  If the idea of a bagger with a V-four engine has appeal, it must be lessened by the loss of 34hp and 2,000rpm."

I thought this may have been a nice replacement to the ST (not that its going to happen anytime soon!), but not with specs like this!!!!!

19.5 litre tank.      :||||

And this comment:

"Numbers can be deceptive but not in this case. The CTX doesn't have enough low-down torque to haul its 338kg quickly off the line. It's the only big bike I can remember riding which is  at risk of being beaten away from lights by cars."

Oh the ignominy!    :o

I think it should be renamed the Honda 'Less'.
It has less power/torque.
Less fuel capacity.
Less suspension travel.
Less luggage space.
Less weather protection.
Less glovebox space.
Less etc.  BUT, it does have more weight!

Leave this for the Yanks who think this is how a bike should look, and bring back the ST.

Have a look at the US/Euro Honda websites, all have the ST1300/Pan European listed. There are even reviews in the US for the 2014 ST 1300.Maybe runouts but still there

Yep it is like going to a strip club, you can look but you can't touch, I will be happy when they either take them down completly and stop the rumor mill they are still making them, or bring out a new one and stop messing around with all these other failed units....
