Interesting human body facts
« on: October 23, 2013, 08:46:21 AM »
- The largest cell in the human body is the female egg, and the smallest is the male sperm.

- A full bladder is roughly the size of a soft ball (a bit bigger than a cricket ball).

- It takes food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.

- The attachment of human muscles to skin is what causes dimples.

- The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

- A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

- If the average male never shaved, his beard would be 13 feet long when he died.

- Men with hairless chests are more likely to get cirrhosis of the liver than men with hair.

- There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.

- Side by side, 2000 cells from the human body could cover about one square inch.

- Women blink twice as much as men.

- The average person's skin weighs twice as much as their brain.

- When you are looking at someone you love, your pupils dilate...they do the same when you are looking at someone you hate!

- Your ears secrete more earwax when you are afraid than when you aren't.

- Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

- If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

- The average woman is 5 inches shorter than the average man.

*** You looked at your thumb... Didn't you?

Isn't blinking related to telling fibs?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

and 11 more;

1 .The brain is much more active at night than during the day.
2. During your lifetime, you will produce enough saliva to fill two swimming pools.
3. Your nose can remember 50,000 different scents.
4. Your eyes are always the same size from birth (but your nose and ears never stop growing).
5. On any given day, sexual intercourse takes place 120 million times on earth.
6. The brain itself cannot feel pain.
7. The largest internal organ is the small intestine.
8. The largest organ is the skin.
9. Sneezes regularly exceed 100 mph & nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour.
10. It takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown.
11. Kick starting an ST burns zero calories.
I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.

Just ask Mrs Wombats wife about burning cal's trying to push start a white ST in the early hours of the morning due to a flat battery.

You use even more energy in a pink dressing gown and a pair of Ugg Boots............apparently.

And who worked out Number 2?
And I can honestly say a full bladder can sometimes feel like a basket ball
