Got an email this morning as follows...
Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Northgate this morning.
Initial information suggests around 7.15am the driver of a sedan was travelling in a southerly direction along Nudgee Road when he lost control and struck an oncoming vehicle.Hmmm..... The 17 year old was driving... when he lost control...
With all the talk lately about speed limits being set too low, it's hard to imagine losing control in a 60km/h speed zone when one is NOT:
- texting;
- speeding;
- spinning the drive wheels;
- on black ice;
- otherwise distracted.
Seems the other 19,000 cars got through that same stretch without losing control.
If it was an ST he hit instead of a car, the consequences are dire. At least the other driver was unharmed.
Anyway, suppositions and assumptions aside, fortunately the young chap is alive, but in hospital.
Watch out for cars driving down roads and then 'losing control' villains!
Cheers, Diesel
