Check out the lid I wear, it's a "Shark Vision-R", in retro black and white color.
it's a great helmet, just be careful with sizes as they will loosen with time, so better to go 1 step snug (but not tight of course)
This helmet has a very wide field of vision, light, has an internal sun-visor, great ventilation, and half the price ($350) of Shoei...
The bottom line is always down to how the helmet fits as there just is NO such thing as BEST helmet for all heads, IMHO

Also if you can spare $800, I urge you to trial a Schubert full face or combination helmet at your BMW dealer, for me it was a fantastic fit but may be hotter in summer.

hope this helps.

I got a Shoei Neotec which I have had for nearly 11 months. I got a medium as the large was to big but after 11 months it is still a bit tight, I replaced the cheek pads with thinner ones which helped but it is getting better with time

Ah the plans of mice and men.
I have had a continuing problem with my neck for several months despite physiotherapy etc.
As  I had not yet ordered the Shark Evoline 3.
I had to take the trusty Nolan N102, to ride from Tullamarine to Canberra initially.
Had my son not been living there it would have been as far as I could go as the pain was no longer bearable. :rockon
The Nolan weighing 1850 grams and I have another 200grams in comms added.
Ok this is long winded I know  |-I
I attended the Bike Expo in Sydney and found Luft helmets, unable to establish the weight I did not buy one.  :'(

However I contacted  Luftracing helmets and Shane was prepared to meet me in the Gold Coast where he was delayed  on his way home to Innisfail, with mechanical troubles.
He not only went to great lengths to ensure I had the right size, as I often have trouble with chinbars on helmets.
The retail price is $595.00 but he sold it to me at the show price as I would have bought one at the show had I been able to find out the weight.
Actually it is on the helmet, but the bloke talking to me obviously did not know that.
Suffice it to say that this helmet was reviewed in the November edition of Australian Road Rider.
It has many great features and all designed with simplicity of function in mind. :thumb
The full helmet airbag ensures it fits all  head shapes. And at 1600Gms I  cannot wait to do a 1000km day to give it a good test.
So if your in the market have a geek it might be for you and it might not.
Being and x Medic I believe this helmet has a lot going for it in countering the severity of head injury :thumbs

I've been using a Nolan 102 for the last few years. Just bought a new Shark Evoline 3 for $475. I also use an RXT open face for local rides around town eg shops, coffee etc

Shoei full face helmets for me :thumb...............Shoei X Eleven in black 1694gms...............RF 1100 in white 1705gms..............TZR multi colour 1521gms.
The X Eleven and the RF 1100 both have Sena connections & speakers fitted and have been weighed with them attached. The TZR is the lightest but I don't wear it, I brought it for my boys to wear when they ride with me. I find the Shoei's fit my head well and are fairly well ventilated, particularly the X Eleven, but it's no longer available, it's been replaced by the X 12, which is probably even better. They're not a cheap helmet, that's for sure, but they suit me fine. :grin

I like wearing either helmet, it just depends on what colour I feel like wearing on the day, sorta like my undies I guess, plain black or black and white striped. :whistle

I wear a Zeus 3000 flipface. It was the only one that fit my head properly. Having said that, it's very comfortable on long hauls and easy to use.
