"Sandgate" almost cost me a ticket because a Cop pulled up beside me and was going on about something.  I told him I couldn't hear him and proceeded to take the helmet off.  There were cars backing up behind him.  It turned out I was stopped too close to a round-about.   :crazy

..... stopped too close to a round-about.

Too close to a roundabout?   Mind you, it can be risky asking a Police officer, "and which regulation would that be?"  In VIC, that might end up costing more than just time.

I'm actually in a bicycle lane, which is probably an offence.

I had a funny one south of Kempsey a couple of years ago when I was pulled over for one of the sins I was caught out committing. The Cop spent literally 15 minutes sitting in his car going through his book of infringements looking for the offence and associated penalty and finally let me off with the warning that if I did "it" again, he'd book me.  I wasn't sure it was even an offence, but another Copper told me since that it is in the book, but seldom seen.

No responses for five months!
Are there any newcomers interested in playing?
To revive the game, I propose that previous players (except me) may reuse any of their towns ONCE more.

Williamson?  Bodø?

The current word is HINGES.

I'm liking those "display" town signs lately, like your "Euroa".

So what's the next bike-related word, Williamson?  Can you see the list of words already used?

And Pete- I'm hoping you're finding some great town names around Oz.

Tag a Member with Towns / Localities

New challenge, same basic idea, but in this case, post town (some will be difficult, so localities may need to suffice) pics with the first letter of the member's name of the previous, eg: Bodo.  The town or locality name will need to be clear and obvious, and your bike, trike or outfit will need to be in the pic.

Broadford VIC

Obi Obi QLD

Darraweit Guim VIC

Old Bonalbo NSW

Not on my keyboard, and probably anyone else's, except yours.  And I suspect it will be a very long ride to find a town or locality starting with Ø.

I started digging out letters to make Williamson and then twigged if I post it then we're back to Bodø again and there's not going to be much variety so think this idea of using the previous poster's name is probably not a good idea.

Good point, but let it ride for a day or three, for someone to be along and post a reply.   And "someone" is likely to be Biggles, it appears that (from the most recent pages anyway) that it was Bill, you & me that kept this thread live.

And there's always hope that others will get involved.

I'll be back in a mo'.  Currently in Tassie. Home again soon.  I have a few pix of town signs.

The original rules said a maximum of 6 letters, some names are rather long (10 or more) and others quite short. I'm not sure I could be bothered to round up 10 towns or have I misread this.

Disregarding my previous message, I had a bit of spare time today so wandered out and took some photos:

Not sure what happened to Stirling. Unfortunately I could not find a safe pull over for the only Stirling entrance sign to the township so had to make do with this picture.
